Meet Dr. Barlow

Experience

I am proud to say that I have had the opportunity to make a significant difference at the Utah Legislature over the last few years. With my expertise as a medical doctor and as a business owner, I have become one of the go to voices among my legislative colleagues on issues related to health care, business and economic growth. I am working hard to make sure our district's voice is represented on Capitol Hill.

Family Life

My wife, Marie, and I have lived in Fruit Heights since 2004 and are life-long Davis County residents. We were married in 1983 and are the proud parents of six children. I graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Psychology and from Georgetown University with a Doctorate of Medicine. I have also completed a General Surgery Internship at the Washington Medical Center and Residency in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, Throat), Head and Neck Surgery at Georgetown University Washington, D.C. I completed an internship on the U. S. Senate Health Committee, and two internships with the Utah State Senate. Marie worked in the White House under the Reagan Administration in Intergovernmental Affairs.

Community Service

I am very active in our state and community. I presently serve on the National Advisory Council for Weber State University, and McKay-Dee Hospital Foundation. I have served with the Utah Medical Association Foundation as Board member and Co-founder; the Davis Volunteer Free Clinic, Weber Medical Society Foundation, and Weber Medical and Surgical Society. I have also served as the former President of the Utah Otolaryngology Society.

I have served in multiple positions including elected President of the Utah Medical Association, President of the Weber County Medical Society, Board member of the Utah Hospital Association,  and Staff President for McKay-Dee Hospital.

I am proud of my efforts to help those less fortunate. I have helped to cofound the only free Medical Clinic in Davis County. The clinic is located in a State-of-the-art building in Clearfield, sharing a building with Midtown Clinic. The Clinic has been servicing Davis County since and is run by volunteer Doctors, Nurses and staff. Along with my family, I am very proud to provide low-cost housing through Skyline Apartments and Park Village in Layton. I have also helped create and form The Weber Country Medical Foundation, which provides seed monies to help start up medical and community projects in Northern Utah.
